Spring is one of the loveliest times to visit Lake Como. Historic gardens burst into colour, temperatures are comfortable for exploring and the lake feels relatively peaceful before the summer season reaches full swing.
June to August
For long days and Lake Como in full summer mode.
Warm weather brings the lake to life, with boats crossing between villages, terraces busy with long lunches and evenings spent beside the water. July and August are the busiest and most expensive months, so hotels and restaurants are best reserved well ahead.
September & October
For lingering warmth and a slower pace.
September often retains much of summer’s warmth while the crowds gradually ease. By October, the landscape begins to turn autumnal and the lake becomes noticeably quieter, ideal for leisurely lunches, villa visits and enjoying the scenery without the heightof summer bustle.
